Graphika Manila 2025 Art Book
Many thanks to the folks over at Graphika Manila for having me in the Graphika Manila 2025 Art Book!
What an incredible event with lots of inspirational, creative speakers from different walks of life! Had lots of fun, and I’m excited to see what next year’s event will bring!
This Maroon-naped Sunbird (Aethopyga guimarasensis) illustration is from the Haring Ibon Playing Cards; photo reference is my own Maroon-naped Sunbird and Tito Jac Señagan’s Hoya incrassata, a Philippine native orchid found in Negros.
When Graphika Manila announced the artists featured in the Graphika Manila 2025 Art Book, they didn’t disclose which one of my works was included.
I submitted two pieces for this project. The second piece is a Dimorphic Dwarf-kingfisher (Ceyx margarethae) in a more environmental setting as compared to the more isolated composition of the Maroon-naped Sunbird. Both of these illustrations come from Haring Ibon - Birds in Focus, Inc. Projects.
This same Dimorphic Dwarf-kingfisher is seen in the Endemic Kingfishers of the Philippines Sticker sheet, but this full illustration is from a future Haring Ibon - Birds in Focus, Inc. project.
