Ang Talarak

The Rufous-headed Hornbill, also known as the Walden's Hornbill (named after Scottish ornithologist Viscount Walden), is regarded as one of the rarest Hornbill species worldwide, classified as a critically endangered species. It shares its spot alongside another Philippine endemic Hornbill, the Sulu Hornbill. The Talarak is extremely rare on Panay and even more scarce in Negros.

I haven't drawn much in a while after being focused on schoolwork, so I thought of drawing birds I wish to see when I return to the Philippines! The Rufous-headed Hornbill is one of the rarest, so my chances are close to none in the wild. However, as I kept on drawing, I still kept my hopes up that one that I would eventually see one in the wild
